FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A. A Sound Enhancer is a non-prescription OTC Hearing Aid, essentially an amplifier that is set to a generic target. This means the device is not tunned in for specific individual. The Hearing Enhancer has adjustable sound settings so the user can select the best sounding program themselves.
A. Hearing loss generally occurs in both ears. If you feel believe your loss is in both ear ( or hard to pinpoint which ear) using a Hearing Enhancer in each ear is going to be of greater benefit. For example, using a pair of Hearing Enhancers allows you to identify where speech (or sound) is coming from due to the inter-aural timing difference. Sound arrives in one ear slightly before the other.
A. The battery door is the on/off control. By opening the battery door you switch the Hearing Enhancer off. By closing the battery door you switch the Hearing Enhancer on.
Every time the Hearing Enhancer is not in use, please leave the battery door open 1/3 to preserve the battery.
See the resource page for video tutorials and user manual for specific details.
A. Each Hearing Enhancer comes with 3 size thin tubes. Size 0, 1 and 2. Size 0 is the smallest in both length and depth, while size 2 is the largest.
The thin tube should sit flush with the side of the face and the Hearing Enhancer snug on top of the ear. The instructional videos will show you how and the user manual has guidance also.
The dome (sits on the end of the thin tube, black in colour) should be comfortable in the ear. If it is uncomfortable in the ear due to the depth it is sitting in the ear canal, move down 1 size at a time.
A. Four dome sizes are included with each Hearing Enhancer. The dome’s come in small, medium and large.
The fourth dome is a closed dome and can be used if the Sound Enhancer requires more bass or is not loud enough.
Medium dome size fits most ears.

A. The rocker switch acts as both the volume control and the button to change programs. The programs are the same in both the Hearing Enhancer micro and mini. See above for details of programs.
The volume control is changed by pressing the top of the rocker switch, you will hear a short beep. You have 4 presses until you reach the maximum and 4 presses down to reach the minimum from the default (central) level.
